Sailing Areas
Explore Scotland under sail from the southern coast of Ireland to Orkney and Shetland.
Discover the great sea lochs of the West Coast and the islands of the Inner and Outer Hebrides.
The West Coast and Islands are generally shielded from the worst of the Atlantic weather and although the sailing can be exciting we are seldom more than a few hours from a quiet and safe anchorage.
The further west and away from the mainland we sail, the drier the weather. You may be surprised that Tiree is often the sunniest place in Britain and this, combined with the warming effects of the Gulf Stream, makes for a climate which is a pleasant surprise for many visitors.
Every cruise is different and the week will start with a discussion over lunch to agree the best options depending on the weather, the tides and the wishes of the group.
"Western Isles” weeks aboard Stormdancer start from Tobermory on the Isle of Mull. The popular town is known for its brightly painted houses, quaint charm and hospitality. Mull is a short ferry crossing from Oban. The harbour is sheltered, provisioning is good and it is an ideal place to stay if you want to extend your holiday.
There is wide choice of itineraries from Tobermory.
